This scholarship was established in memory of Margaret Benson, an elementary school teacher, and mother to a UNT journalism alumna. The award is open to incoming or current students of the Mayborn Graduate Institute of Journalism at UNT. Applicants must indicate necessity for scholarship. The GPA requirement (3.0) is the same as the graduate school. Students must be employed full-time and attend graduate school on a part-time basis.
