Dave Tracy has worked in TV News, Corporate Video, and Commercial Video Production for over 30 years. In 2013 he joined the Mayborn School of Journalism as a Lecturer. His classes include: Media Performance, Introduction to Visual Communications, Introduction to Media Writing, and Visual News Storytelling. He began his career as a writer/producer for KFMB-TV (CBS) in San Diego, CA. Dave then became a General Assignments TV News Reporter at WMBD-TV (CBS) in Peoria, IL, and later at KDFW-TV (CBS then) in Dallas. Dave switched to corporate communication after that, working for American Airlines, Westcott Communications, and VHA, Inc., all in the Dallas area, before founding his own video production company, which also operated out of Dallas, TX. Dave has received numerous awards for his work, 5 Dallas Press Club “Katies” for Excellence in Journalism, and a Cable Ace Award for a half-hour documentary on a California Coastline Initiative. Dave received his B.A. in Journalism from San Diego State University and his M.A. in Communication from the University of Texas at Tyler.
