Nelson Clyde IV is President of T.B. Butler Publishing Co., Inc., and Publisher of The Tyler Morning Telegraph, The Tyler Courier-Times-Telegraph, and Tylerpaper.com.
Clyde, a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and Tyler Junior College, received a B.S. degree from the University of Texas at Tyler in 1987.
From 1987-89, Clyde was employed at the Austin American-Statesman. He returned to Tyler in 1989 and joined his family’s business as a fifth generation participant in the company along with his grandfather, father, uncle, brother, sister, and cousins.
Clyde has also served on numerous community boards in various capacities and was co-recipient of the 1999 W.C. Windsor award. He was selected Citizen of the Year by the Sigma Sigma chapter of Omega Psi Phi fraternity at Texas College in 2000 and was named a 2008 Distinguished Alumnus at the University of Texas at Tyler. In March of 2010 he was awarded the Pat Taggert award by the Texas Daily Newspaper Association.
Clyde is the immediate Past President of the Texas Daily Newspaper Association and currently serves as Chairman of its Board of Directors as well as being a member of the Board of Directors of Citizen’s 1st Bank and T.B. Butler Publishing Co. His passions include his faith, family, community, and education as they all contribute to making a difference.
Clyde and his wife, Elizabeth, have four children, Sarah, (the 2008 Rose Queen), Cal, Rachel and Jamie. He and his family are members of Green Acres Baptist Church.
