Open to any undergraduate major in the Department of News in the Mayborn School of Journalism with a 3.0 GPA or higher. This scholarship is funded by The Dallas Foundation specifically for Mayborn School of Journalism students.

Dave T. Lane/Belo Corp Scholars Program is funded by The Dallas Foundation, which supports deserving students who are enrolled in the Mayborn School of Journalism. A student portfolio is required and an essay stating personal motivation and professional goals is to be submitted with the application. Up to three full scholarships of $5,000 each, or smaller partial scholarships may be awarded.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student with major status in the Department of News in the Mayborn School of Journalism
• Must meet entrance and academic performance standards of the Mayborn School of Journalism and the University of North Texas
• Must have completed at least 60 hours of coursework toward a degree at the time of application
• Must have a minimum UNT GPA of 3.0
• Must be a US citizen

Applications

Applications are accepted in the spring semester. Scholarships may be used starting the following fall semester.
