The Richard Pratt Smith Scholarship was established by his nephew Wade Bradley Smith. Richard was an alum of UNT's Journalism program and devoted his career to working in the field of journalism. He was interested in both news and photojournalism. Along with being an avid journalist, he was Austin bureau chief for the San Antonio Express. This scholarship is open to full-time students majoring in News Journalism with a 2.5 GPA or higher.
