Contreras Arely Contreras I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. I am proud to say that I am a first-generation college student at the University of North Texas. I'm a journalism major with a broadcast concentration. I decided to come to the Mayborn School of Journalism because of its excellent journalism program. Mayborn is known for pushing students to believe in themselves and exceed in their future journalism careers. My biggest accomplishments are becoming an NBCU Academy Scholar and recently becoming an intern for Univision's Proyecto U this Fall 2021.

Dharas

Inaara Dharas My name is Inaara Dharas and I am a senior at UNT! My major is Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations and I am loving it! I have lived in Texas since I was around five and have completed all my education here. Some things I like to do is reading, writing, researching new topics, and watching a lot of women's soccer when I have time! I intend on using the useful skills I have learned over the course of four years at law school after I graduate.
Greene Carlynn Greene Carlynn Greene is a journalist/producer from Dallas, TX and graduate student studying broadcast journalism at the Mayborn School of Journalism. Greene decided to pursue her master's degree in hopes of one day becoming a media professor later in her professional career. This summer she did a 10-week internship with ABC News Live as a producer where she worked alongside anchors Terry Moran, Diane Macedo and Linsey Davis. Some stories she got to produce include; the Britney Spears Conservatorship special & the 2021 Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee's first African-American winner live-interview. Greene is also an influencer (@ESPdaniella), has worked on promotional campaigns for Amazon, Walmart, Adobe, Bose etc., and was recently nominated for AdColor's TikTok Creator Award, for creators who advocate for diversity/inclusivity in their video content. Upon graduation, Greene hopes to create and produce her own original show, continue her work as an influencer, and potentially start her own influencer marketing firm.
Jimenez Roy Jimenez

I chose UNT because I love the diversity and the numerous opportunities available to students. Also, because I felt welcomed when I came for my tour.
I chose Mayborn because I love that the program is hands on and the fact it is in the DFW area. Meaning you can do internships with some awesome partners like the Dallas Cowboys.

I chose broadcast journalism because I love getting to tell stories along with video. Also, being able to be the voice for the voiceless and meeting people as well.

McCray Jocelyn McCray Hello! My name is Jocelyn McCray, and I am from St. Louis, Missouri, and study broadcast journalism. When I moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area and began my journey looking for the perfect university to attend, it was always important for me to find a community where I could not only grow as a leader but also learn from the best leaders. This desire is what lead me to the University of North Texas, and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. UNT has given me so many great opportunities and helped me discover so many great organizations such as NABJ and NAHJ. The experience I've gained over the years makes me feel confident about life post-graduation. With my degree, I hope I can one day become a content producer or anchor for my own television show.
Nunez Laura Nunez My name is Laura Nunez and I'm from Fort Worth, Texas. I chose to major in Journalism with a concentration in Broadcast because I love the aspect of visual storytelling. I love capturing moments in time on camera and I especially enjoy the video editing process when everything comes together. UNT was always my first choice for college because of the Mayborn school of Journalisms reputation for being a place where students get hands on experience from amazing Professors who prepare students for journalism careers. Now I'm thankful to be able to assist other journalism students as a board member of the UNT National Association of Hispanic Journalists. Through this organization I have talked to new Mayborn students about their goals and hope to support them this semester as they get started. After graduation I hope to start my journalism career with a company that allows me to serve the community and mentor students along the way. After a few years of working, I plan on coming back for a master's degree.
Rodriguez Linoshka Rodriguez Hello, my name is Linoshka Rodriguez and I'm from Moca, Puerto Rico. Currently, I am a senior majoring in broadcast/digital journalism and minoring in Spanish. My dream job is to work for the E! News television show and to accomplish that dream I am constantly developing different communication skills starting by being an Eagle Ambassador at UNT. My goal after graduating is to become a trustworthy journalist that can connect with audiences of diverse backgrounds.
