The essay must be:

  • Typed

Please include your name and the scholarship for which you are applying on your essay(s)*.

*Note that some scholarships require an additional essay with different topics. You will have the opportunity to upload additional essays for specific scholarships within this application.

Deadline

Awarding of Scholarships

Scholarship winners will be notified by email. Scholarship awards will be presented at the annual Celebrate Mayborn event sponsored by the Mayborn School of Journalism. Time, date and location are TBD. Scholarship recipients not attending the event will receive their scholarship award letters by email after the event.

Scholarships are paid via financial aid. They are applied to the student's fall and spring semester tuition costs (half in fall 2021; half in spring 2022) providing the student is enrolled as full time. Students graduating in December 2021 receive the entire award in the fall semester.

Should you be awarded a scholarship your essay will be given to the donor of the scholarship award. All recipients are required to write a thank you letter to their respective scholarship donors and submit it along with a signed acceptance form to the Mayborn School of Journalism.
