Vivian Pappas Unger is an instructor for JOUR 3040 Advertising Media Strategy. She served as an adjunct lecturer for JOUR 2000 Principles of Strategic Communications during the summer term. She received her master of journalism in December of 2013 from UNT with a minor in marketing. She also holds a bachelor of arts in mass communication and political science from the University of Illinois-Chicago.
Unger has extensive experience in local and national media sales and marketing in top 50 markets as an executive, and consultant. She has worked for KTVT, KXAS NBC Universal, CBS National Television Stations, MMT, FOX National Television Stations, New World Broadcasting, and Seltel; along with local radio station KEGL/KFJZ. Her specialties include creative marketing, high-profile sports, sales training, mentoring, leadership, strategic planning non-profit leadership and fundraising.
She is a past president and a member of the board of directors of the Alliance for Women in Media DFW, Past-President; parliamentarian and founder for the Student Media Tour and former chair of the Student in Broadcast. Finally, she was National Director-Alliance for Women in Media from 2001-2007.
