The Frank W. Mayborn Graduate Institute of Journalism is part of the Frank W. and Sue Mayborn School of Journalism. Our students work around the country in print and broadcast media, public relations agencies and various media communications organizations.

The Master of Arts in Journalism and Master of Journalism program in the Frank W. Mayborn Graduate Institute of Journalism prepares students with lifetime communication and intellectual skills for successful careers in journalism, public relations, advertising, and higher education. This program offers state-of-the-art technological training and support as well as research and study opportunities in news, public relations, advertising, photojournalism, publishing, broadcast and multimedia news.

In addition, the graduate institute offers an accelerated online program in digital communication analytics to help communication professionals acquire knowledge and skills in statistical analysis and predictive analytics, data visualization, research methods, data mining, and machine learning.

MS in Digital Communication Analytics
UNT's 30-hour accelerated online Master of Science in Digital Communication Analytics (MSDCA) provides hands-on instructions to help novices build analytics skills from the ground up. The program does not require you to possess prior knowledge or skills in digital communication analytics.

Interdisciplinary PhD
The UNT Interdisciplinary Information Science Ph.D. Program responds to the varied and changing needs of the information age, therefore offering the Journalism Concentration jointly with the Mayborn School of Journalism.

Internships
Internships for graduate students offer practical experience in areas of journalism under the instruction and supervision of a major professor and/or graduate institute director and the appointed supervisor of the internship company or organization.

Graduate Assistantships
A limited number of graduate assistantships are awarded each school year by the Mayborn Graduate Institute of Journalism. Graduate students may apply for and be placed with faculty in teaching or research positions.
