Leslie is Vice President, Assistant Secretary and Assistant General Counsel at Texas Instruments. She leads the organization responsible for corporate governance, capital markets and mergers and acquisitions. She advises TI's board of directors and management on a variety corporate governance, finance and shareholder matters. Effective verbal and written communication, intellectual curiosity and problem-solving are considered table stakes in Leslie's day job, and she credits her time as a journalism student at Mayborn for helping to foster and grow those skills.
Leslie graduated from UNT in 2006 with a degree in journalism and a degree in Spanish. During her time on campus, she was president of the UNT chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists, as well very involved in the community, including serving as a member and reporter for the Epsilon Mu chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Incorporated. Leslie started her legal career at a large law firm in Dallas, and then transitioned to an inhouse position at A.H. Belo Corporation (parent company of The Dallas Morning News) where she was able to combine her love for journalism with her professional pursuits.
In addition to serving on the Board of Advisors of the Mayborn School of Journalism, Leslie is very active in The Junior League of Dallas, where she has served on the Board of Directors and head of Signature Projects, which focuses on developing projects and grants that serve critical needs within the community.
