Charlie Scudder covers suburban safety for The Dallas Morning News, where he has been a reporter on the features and news desks for five years. He received a Master of Liberal Studies degree from Southern Methodist University in 2017 and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the Indiana University School of Journalism in 2014. Raised in Colleyville, Texas, he has also written for USA TODAY, the Tampa Bay Times, SAVEUR Magazine and other regional and national publications. In 2017, he was part of the staff at The News honored as a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in breaking news reporting for coverage of the July 7, 2016 ambush on Dallas police officers. He lives in Arlington with his fiancé, Hanna, and their dog, Woodrow, and cat, Oliver.
