Dr. Nisbett's research examines the intersection of mediated social influence, political engagement, and popular culture. Her research incorporates a multi-methods approach to understanding the influence of fandom and celebrity in social and civic engagement. She has published in journals such as Political Communication, Health Communication, and the Atlantic Journal of Communication. She teaches courses in social influence, social media, and ethics in strategic communication.
Nisbett is a native of Norman, OK and is a die-hard Sooner fan.
