Terri West is a retired senior vice president of Texas Instruments Incorporated, where she began as an intern and worked for 37 years. During the last 19 years of her career, West was responsible for the company's global communications, investor relations, government relations, community affairs and ti.com. She also was part of the company's five-person Management Committee. Currently, West is chairman of the Texas Instruments Foundation board of directors.
West is a 1982 graduate of the University of North Texas where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in journalism, with minors in political science and Spanish. She credits professors at UNT for teaching her the art of critical problem solving and for instilling the importance of analyzing how each project, no matter how successful, could be improved.
In addition to serving as chairman of the board of advisors for the Mayborn School of Journalism, she also serves as chairman of the board for the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas Foundation, and is a board member of The June Shelton School for students with learning differences and of the Boys & Girls Clubs Southwest Region.
West has two grown children and lives with her husband near Dallas, Texas.
